X-Ray

X-ray is a noninvasive test that helps physicians in
diagnosing and treating many medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves
exposing a part of the Body to a small dose of ionizing radiation producing
pictures of the body. X-rays are the traditional and most frequently used form
of medical imaging.
((Importance? ))
- Diagnose fractured bones / joint dislocation.
- Assessment of proper alignment and stabilization of bony
fragments after treatment of fractures.
- Guide orthopedic surgery, such as spine repair/fusion,
joint replacement and fracture reductions.
- Detecting injuries, infections , arthritis, abnormal bone
growths and bony changes seen in metabolic conditions.
- Assist in the detection and diagnosis of bone cancer.
- Detection and location of metallic foreign bodies.
- Helps in giving a general assessment for the chest.
- Diagnosing enlarged adenoids which couldn't be easily
examined clinically.
- Diagnosis of calcular shadows as stones in the urinary
tract or gall bladder.
((It's preparations))
Mostly no special preparation
You may be asked to remove some or all of your clothes
during the exam.
You may also be asked to remove jewelry, removable dental
appliances, eye glasses and any metal objects or clothing that might interfere
with the x-ray Images.
Women should not be pregnant.
